Tokyo Revengers: The first glimpse of Mikey's Dark Impulses

The latest Tokyo Revengers: Chapter 263 shows Mikey's backstory, and has hinted the reason of Mikey's dark impulses. In this chapter, we are shown Mikey's dad, who seems like a very cheerful person. Mikey looks up to him. We are then told that Mikey's father died in a car accident when Mikey was merely three.

His father's death was what triggered his desire to get stronger. Mikey trained hard to become strong and loved beating up other bad guys.

We are also shown that Mikey's mother is in the hospital, and Mikey gets to see her once a week. From the looks of it, she seems to be having some terrible disease, but she is always cheerful. She always talks about Mikey's father when he gets to see her, and Mikey loves his mother and wants to prove to her that he is strong.

Soon, in a scene we are shown that Shinichiro comes running and informs them that their mother is in critical condition. They go to visit her and have a talk. His mother then tells Mikey that he is strong, but not because he doesn't cry. It is a very emotional moment for Mikey, and three days later, Mikey's mother dies.

After that, we are shown that Mikey is in a trauma for a while and then, in a scene, we can see three high-school students picking on him, and that's when we see Mikey's dark impulses show for the first time.

It's pretty certain from this that Mikey's dark impulses are a result of his somewhat tragic childhood. Death of his father, death of his mother, and soon enough death of his brother might all have contributed to his dark impulses.
